LBURUFC – lead the way for Leeds Beckett University

The Leeds Beckett University Rugby Football Union Club led the way for the university and other universities today by choosing the Charlie Watkins Foundation to be their chosen charitable foundation this year. The Rugby Union Club won their first BUCS Super Rugby league match against Bath away.

The Leeds Beckett club is one of the best rugby universities in the country, boasting a tremendous track record over the past five years, producing many high level playing rugby players. The club got in touch with the foundation expressing their strong beliefs of working with the Charlie Watkins Foundation to destroy the stigma surrounding mental health, especially prevalent within men.

The club are using their initiative and holding many events to raise money for foundation. After nearly two weeks they are on their way to raising towards one thousand pounds, a figure that will no doubt rise throughout the year.

The foundation wishes these boys all the best with their season to come and hopes to see the Beckett lads crowned champions at the end of the season.
