Zan Moon takes to the ring to fight against mental health stigma

With £1,000 raised already, Zan Moon is set for a knock-out match having made the bold decision to take part in a boxing fight as part of Bristol University’s Fight Night.

Zan has decided to do this in memory of Charlie Watkins, with all proceeds going to the Charlie Watkins Foundation, under the wing of the Essex Community Foundation. The Charlie Watkins Foundation provides vital grant funding to help assist young people with mental health issues across the country.

On her JustGiving page for the Fight Night, Zan states that: “Raising awareness/speaking out to friends is incredibly important and will help tackle this bizarre ‘taboo’ around voicing our emotions. There is nothing wrong with suffering from mental health issues of any kind, and I strongly believe that no one should be made to suffer in silence.”

The fight is set to take place on 22nd February 2018. Show your support by donating to Zan’s just giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/zan-moon

My favourite memory of Charlie is always his laugh and smile… he would always tease me about my dancing so one time I jokingly slapped him a bit too hard and he never let me live it down, and called me zanban007 since then – so I guess he’d find it hilarious I was doing a boxing fight night for him now!” – Zan Moon
